Lake Superior Trip, Day 5, Friday, July 22 (Layover Day)

0630-59F/56F, solar 76%. Peaceful night.

1100-Made coffee cake this morning to have with coffee during my morning study.  Took the extra time since I'm laying over for another day. It took longer than expected and I forgot toothpicks again!

However, once it was done, it was great!  Had breakfast around 0930. Afterward I went out to retrieve the fire ring and setup a circle of rocks for a wood fire this evening.

Flew the drone for a few flights to take some video and pics.

Headed back to the boat to do dishes as a boat entered the north passage around the islands heading to the cabin, but I'm not sure of their destination.  I had hoped they would not arrive until after I depart tomorrow.

I'm heating water to finish the dishes as I write this.

1115-Dishes are done.  I will go out to the channel and cutup the firewood and maybe read for a while.

1300-Cut up a bunch of firewood, plenty for tonight and set up my umbrella on the chair for shade.  In spite of a breeze and some shade it was too hot (79F) so I headed back to the boat for better shade and cooler temps, only 66F inside the boat!

1600-I read in the cockpit for a while after making a boat lunch but a T-storm threatened and I felt tired so I napped for quite a while. Didn't hear it rain but windows showed sprinkles.  It is late enough to start dinner soon.

1630-67F/75F.

1715-73F/73F. Finished spaghetti dinner, salad, roll, and a beer (no red wine!). T-storm overhead with rain. Listening to music. Solar 100%.

Had the other half of my Haagen Daz ice cream bar with Baileys over the top for dessert.  I need to bring more in the future, it makes a great treat!

2245-After dinner I tried to go out and sit by the channel and read but it started to rain so I went back and tried to read on the stern deck but wind and rain drove me back inside. I finally went out and started the fire and did some filming. Had a nice fire but there were a few sprinkles threatening to increase with a passing T-storm but I stuck it out and the rain never materialized.  It didn't even affect the paper under the kindling.
